Maybe This Time*

Willkommen! Bienvenue! Welcome! Meine Damen und Herren-Mes dames et Messieurs- Ladies and Gentlemen, Guten Abend! Bon Soir! Good Evening! Wie geht's? Comment sa va? Do you feel good? Ich bin eur confrencier! Je suis votre compre,
I am you host!

Oh Boy, what an act to follow! For this man of great limitations should know better.
This is the time of year I miss living in Germany the most. Where for three years, every day was a new adventure full of awe and wonder. From the majestic mountains in the south to the great bustling Hamburg by the sea, The center of Hamburg day and nightlife is the St. Pauli and Reeperbahn district, known to locals as the “Kiez”. More than just its famous red light quarter, St. Pauli offers plenty of top-shelf (and bargain) restaurants and a endless supply of watering holes to keep your gang going until the early morning, and I mean like, hello Mr.Sun. But I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. There is in Germany, so much history to experience, and castles, castles everywhere a castle. Then back again to how much I enjoyed Berlin, and it's fabulous nightlife! Not to mention my great love affair with Frankfurt, and Fulda. I went through Germany like a true American politician. I wanted to hit every Gasthaus, shake every hand, kiss every fraulein, and help make every baby.

You need to give us (and we won't forget to bring her back when we are finished with her) --The Toast of Mayfair -- Fraulein Sally Bowles!

All the odds are in my favor
Something's bound to begin
It's got to happen, happen sometime
Maybe this time I'll win

Oh oh oh oh, just missed you as I was tweaking my post. I got what you want, and the song too. Just click on the header "MAYBE THIS TIME". However, here is another version I was toying with posting.
Maybe this time Sarah. I suppose I have... ? ha ha, this fool can't suppose! I will have no choice, but to take you back to Germany with me.

One of my students is currently in Germany, singing opera. He's having the time of his life!

It's good to hear from you Jaded, I must admit I was at first very shy of the Germans. The first mounth I was in Fulda, I would not even go into town alone. Well let me tell you. You can't stay shy for too long around those robust fun loving Germans, once they get to know you, it's all over. And if all else fails. They have the glass boot, that will have you singing in German before the night is over.

Welcome............
To Berlin

Oh Walt, they turned our relatives into lamp shapes.

Of course, according to Eichmann, they were just under orders

They were just doing their pagan Christian duty. Hitler was Jesus you know. The parallel between Hitler and the Messiah was made explicit in German schools. On 16 March 1934 children wrote out the following dictation approved by Hitler's Ministry of Enlightenment and Propaganda:

Jesus and Hitler. As Jesus freed men from sin and Hell, so Hitler freed the German people from destruction. Jesus and Hitler were persecuted, but while Jesus was crucified Hitler was raised to the Chancellorship ... Jesus strove for Heaven, Hitler for the German earth.

I think we would make a handsome pair of lamps.
