Why?

Why keep a blog? I've been asking myself that question a lot here lately. What good is it?
There are so many other much more superior blogs, that I feel like this is just a waste of peoples time.

Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that.
If a man is standing in the middle of the forest speaking and there is no woman around to hear him... is he still wrong?

I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately.

News paper is in my blood, I worked my way up from a delivery boy, to working in the press room. My dream was to become editor of the weekly world news, yes I'm ever bit as discusting as Chuck Barris. I guess this is about as close as I'll ever get to being an editor.

Guy Stuff

My trashy hoe is out gallivanting around with some old decrepit looking geezer, who looks to me like some kind of long dead fish. You can bet, I will set her hot little ass on fire the very first chance I get. I don't really know why I want to keep my Wild Thing anyway. I bet she has never washed a man's truck, or plucked a chicken in her life!
While she is out raising the dead, I have a chance to talk about some of the things that interest me. As many of you know, I used to be a firearms dealer for many years down here in Kentucky.
At one time, I had a huge collection of over 300 rare weapons and military relics from all over the world. I had everything from old artillery shells, and
hand grenades, to machine guns and swords.
Of my favorites, many came from the Israeli Wars. Such as my two
Egyptian Hakim Rifles, that were captured during the 1967 Six-Day War.
The Hakim's are in 7.92x57mm IS or the 8x57mm IS and here in the USA as the 8 mm Mauser or 8x57mm JS) caliber, 192 grain (12g) bullet only, and has a removable 10 round magazine intended to be reloaded with
5 round stripper clips. It was replaced in the 1960s by the Soviet AK-47 but was kept in military reserve. In more recent years, it has been observed in the hands of some Egyptian police units.

Lucky for us, the Egyptians fought like the French Army.

I also have a German Mauser Kar98k rifle.
Israel used my Nazi Mauser Kar98k rifle from the late 1940s until the 1970s.

The use of the Kar98k to establish the nation-state of Israel, is proof to me that good will overcome evil. Many Jewish organizations in Palestine acquired them from post-World War II Europe to protect various Jewish settlements from Arab attack as well as to carry out guerrilla operations against British Army forces in Palestine.

The Haganah, which later evolved into the modern-day Israeli Defense Forces, was one of the Jewish armed groups in Palestine that brought large numbers of Mauser Kar98k rifles and other surplus arms from Europe during the post-World War 2 period.

The Israeli version of the Mauser Kar98k rifles differ from the original German version in that almost all have had all of their Nazi Waffenamt markings and emblems defaced with over stamped Israeli Defence Force and Hebrew markings as part of an effort to ideologically "purify" the rifles from their former use as an infantry weapon of Nazi Germany. My Kar98k rifle is one of the rare exceptions, it still has the original Nazi markings next to the Hebrew. The Star of David, next to the nazi eagle and swastika, seems so unreal, yet cool.

During the late 1950s, the IDF converted the calibre of my rifle from the original German 7.92 mm round to 7.62 mm NATO after the IDF adopted the FN FAL rifle in 1958. All Mauser Kar98k rifles that were converted have "7.62" engraved on the rifle receiver.

The Kar98k rifle was used by the reserve branches of the IDF well into the 1960s and 1970s and saw action in the hands of various Israeli Army support and line-of-communications troops during the 1967 Six-Day War and the 1973 Arab-Israeli War.

"U.S. troops psyched up on a bizarre musical reprise from the Vietnam war film 'Apocalypse Now' before crashing into Iraqi homes to hunt insurgents.... With Wagner's 'Ride Of The Valkyries' still ringing in their ears and the clatter of helicopters overhead, soldiers rammed vehicles into metal gates and hundreds of troops raided houses in the western city of Ramadi..."--Reuters,

Click and Read

A little something I just now found.

I want to argue that now, 60 years after the end of the Holocaust, it is time to grow out of all this.

The time has come to turn the memory of the Holocaust from an exclusively Jewish property into a world-wide human possession.

The mourning, the anger and the shame must be turned into a universal message against all forms of genocide.

The struggle against anti-Semitism must become a part of the fight against all kinds of racism, whether directed against Muslims in Europe or Blacks in America, Kurds in Turkey or Palestinians in Israel, or foreign workers everywhere.

The Jews‘ long history as the victims of murderous persecution must not cause us to wrap ourselves in a cult of self -pity, but, on the contrary, should encourage us to take the lead in the world-wide struggle against racism, prejudice and stereotypes that begin with incitement by vile demagogues and can end in genocide.

Such a people would truly be "a light unto the nations."

Maybe This Time*

Willkommen! Bienvenue! Welcome! Meine Damen und Herren-Mes dames et Messieurs- Ladies and Gentlemen, Guten Abend! Bon Soir! Good Evening! Wie geht's? Comment sa va? Do you feel good? Ich bin eur confrencier! Je suis votre compre,
I am you host!

Oh Boy, what an act to follow! For this man of great limitations should know better.
This is the time of year I miss living in Germany the most. Where for three years, every day was a new adventure full of awe and wonder. From the majestic mountains in the south to the great bustling Hamburg by the sea, The center of Hamburg day and nightlife is the St. Pauli and Reeperbahn district, known to locals as the “Kiez”. More than just its famous red light quarter, St. Pauli offers plenty of top-shelf (and bargain) restaurants and a endless supply of watering holes to keep your gang going until the early morning, and I mean like, hello Mr.Sun. But I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. There is in Germany, so much history to experience, and castles, castles everywhere a castle. Then back again to how much I enjoyed Berlin, and it's fabulous nightlife! Not to mention my great love affair with Frankfurt, and Fulda. I went through Germany like a true American politician. I wanted to hit every Gasthaus, shake every hand, kiss every fraulein, and help make every baby.

Ahhhhh Sarah, City Girls Are Easy.

Willkommen! Meine Dammen und Herren, Ladies and Gentlemen!

I'm sure just to keep up with this fair beauties ravenous intelligence, many men would feel intimidated, and fewer still would have the patience. The fact that she just given me the longest salute in the history of my blog, only means the game is not over. For Sarah to invest that much of her time is in no way a mere act of love for "Sex And The City". This woman's mind goes much deeper than you could ever imagine. it hungers constantly for stimulation, knowledge, and so much more. A less able mind like myself has a need to be able to filter out and ignore some stimuli. There are few people who can perform at her level. A less intelligent person with a low level of latent inhibition for filtering out familiar stimuli may well sink into mental illness as a result, and be like me, crazy as a June Bug. But with her smarter mind she can handle the effects of taking note of a larger number of stimuli and even find interesting and useful patterns by continually processing a larger quantity of familiar information. That is why Sarah can have a finger in every pie, and still have the time to jerk the slack out of my chain. So now this behemoth of higher thought, has again thrown down the gauntlet to me. I better give up before it's too late. Joy Apollo 100 ultragroovy!

Unity

Willkommen! Si vis pacem, para bellum.

"The peaceful Hobbits had been overrun by evil men. Having fought along side with Middle Earth's finest warriors and generals, Frodo et al are easily able to mobilize the hobbits in a way that swiftly dispatches of the ruffians." Sounds very much like a social worker's wet dream. Thanks Dave.
Unity: In this day and age we can ill afford to be without it. Yet how often do we make the effort to fully embrace our fellowships, or take the time to strengthen common bonds?
I'm afraid, the handwriting is on the wall, and the time will soon come, when every man will be for himself. A few of us may learn to be good Hobbits, and survive the coming upheaval. Until then let's keep on dancing.
