My first conversation with O[uspensky] took place on August 30, 1922.
On that occasion I began by telling him how dissatisfied I was with the idea that Life must be a lesser thing than we were capable of imagining it to be. I had the feeling that the same thing happened to nearly everybody whom I knew and whom I did not know. No sooner was their youth, with the little force and impetus characteristic of youth, done, then they stopped growing. At the very moment that one felt that now was the time to gather oneself together, to use one’s whole strength, to take control, to be an adult, in fact, they seemed content to swap the darling wish of their hearts for innumerable little wishes. Or the image that suggested itself to me was that of a river flowing away in countless little trickles over a dark swamp.
They deceived themselves, of course. They called this trickling away—greater tolerance—wider interests—a sense of proportion—so that work did not rule out the possibility of ‘life.’ Or they called it an escape from all this mind-probing and self-consciousness—a simpler and therefore a better way of life. But sooner or later, in literature at any rate, there sounded an undertone of deep regret. There was an uneasiness, a sense of frustration. One heard, one thought one heard, the cry that began to echo in one’s own being: “I have missed it. I have given up. This is not what I want. If this is all, then Life is not worth living.”
But I know it is not all. How does one know that? Let me take the case of K. M. She has led, ever since she can remember, a very typically false life. Yet, through it all, there have been moments, instants, gleams, when she has felt the possibility of something quite other.

“Do you know what individuality is?”
“No.”
“Consciousness of will. To be conscious that you have a will and can act.”
Yes, it is. It’s a glorious saying.

Paradox of love
This paradox of love, has been on my mind since I made the last post. It seems at times love can come and flourish from nothing, and yet love can be like a delicate rose. A living entity that must have attention and nourishment to grow an survive.
I found a new love, though she has been dead for over 85 years, she reminds me a little of Sarah. I mixed in some of her quotes below, see if you can guess who she is.
I am treating you as my friend, asking you to share my present minuses in the hope I can ask you to share my future pluses. I always felt that the great high privilege, relief and comfort of friendship was that one had to explain nothing. The more you are motivated by love, the more fearless and free your actions will be. Risk! Risk anything! Care no more for the opinion of others, for those voices. Do the hardest thing on earth for you. Act for yourself. Face the truth
The paradox of love, i.e., The more love you want to experience, the more love you must give away. We all seek love; we all want to be loved. And yet love can only be ours if we give it to others. The more we give, the greater is the return. Trying to control or possess love is like trying to hold onto a sunbeam. It cannot be done
If only one could tell true love from false love as one can tell mushrooms from toadstools. With mushrooms it is so simple — you salt them well, put them aside and have patience. But with love, you have no sooner lighted on anything that bears even the remotest resemblance to it than you are perfectly certain it is not only a genuine specimen, but perhaps the only genuine mushroom ungathered.
"Love and Mushrooms," journal entry (1917),
There is nothing in this world like the feeling of knowing without a doubt, that somebody loves you!

American Beauty
My most dependable friends have been women, but then again, my most fickle of friends have all been women too. One must choose his consorts wisely, I look for the things I admire most in a woman. An intrepid heart, an audacious spirit, a clever mind. As well as love and loyalty; two vital pillars that must be earned, and can never just be demanded. There are few that can compare with Sarah. I find her to be the most appetent of all. Sarah has suffered long with me, indeed she has been exceedingly steadfast, ignoring my little tantrums, and brash behavior. She is remarkably intuitive, having no idea what I look like, and yet she has great faith in me. I must admit that this wonderful lady, is my most mysterious enigma, out of all those who care for me.
I Love Women
Too often they are taken for granted as inferior, in this male dominated world. Every mother, every daughter, is a unique gift from G-d.
Ella Wheeler Wilcox (November 5, 1850–October 30, 1919).
American Poet. (I see a good song in this, if I could remember how to read music).
Solitude:
Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone.
For this brave old earth must borrow its mirth,
But has trouble enough of its own.
Sing, and the hills will answer;
Sigh, it is lost on the air.
The echoes bound to a joyful sound,
But shrink from voicing care.
Solitude
Rejoice, and men will seek you;
Grieve, and they turn and go.
They want full measure of all your pleasure,
But they do not need your woe.
Be glad, and your friends are many;
Be sad, and you lose them all.
There are none to decline your nectared wine,
But alone you must drink life's gall.
Solitude
There is room in the halls of pleasure
For a long and lordly train,
But one by one we must all file on
Through the narrow aisles of pain.
Solitude
No question is ever settled
Until it is settled right.
Settle the Question Right.
Here, on this side of the grave,
Here, should we labor and love.
Here and Now
So many gods, so many creeds;
So many paths that wind and wind,
While just the art of being kind
Is all the sad world needs.
The World's Need
You never can tell when you do an act
Just what the result will be;
But with every deed you are sowing a seed,
Though the harvest you may not see.
Each kindly act is an acorn dropped
In God's productive soil;
You may not know, yet the tree shall grow
And shelter the brows that toil.
You never can tell what your thoughts will do
In bringing you hate or love;
For thoughts are things, and their airy wings
Are swifter than carrier doves.
They follow the law of the universe—
Each thing must create its kind;
And they speed o'er the track to bring you back
Whatever went out from your mind.

Who Cares?
Jews are always in Peril, and will continue to be. As long as there are fascist governments, pagan Christianity, and it's bastard brother Islam. The idolatry of the Fascist state would seem to foster religious indifference, in fact it promotes a heretical religion of its own. A moral casuistry, based on the glorification of the state, provides an alternative to faith in Adoni.
The Christian fascist religion inevitably persecutes all other faiths. Despite its claims of religious toleration, the fascist regime cannot abide the presence of any organization that refuses to worship the god of the state and that proclaims a higher God that has given divine moral law that is in conflict to the interest of the state:
To make things worse it seems that God's chosen has adopted a loser mentality. How can we be a light unto the nations, when we fail be a light unto our fellow Jews? Is it any wonder why so many love starved Jews become Christians? That mythical Jesus sure seems like a sweet guy, but don't be fooled, your God is more true and loving than any false idolatrous god like Christ. So my friend, what is in your heart? Do you seek a closer walk? Or has religion destroyed your faith?
The true balance between the secular and the sacred is only possible if all religions go back to the original teachings of Abraham, father of all nations, as they were consummated at Sinai. Every intelligent person should know that when distortions set into any system, the truest way of discovering the real facts is not by adding new theories, but by tracing back to the original roots that preceded human distortions.

Keeper Of The Stars
I love those lyrics, but the music is so typical, has no imagination.
It sounds like a thousand other songs. I'm not sure if Sarah would like it.
It was no accident me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew
Now I just can't believe you're in my life
Heaven's smilin' down on me
As I look at you tonight
I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars
Soft moonlight on your face oh how you shine
It takes my breath away
Just to look into your eyes
I know I don't deserve a treasure like you
There really are no words
To show my gratitude
So I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars

Our days here are numbered.
Just thought you'd like to know :) The emergence and re-emergence of infectious diseases involves many interrelated factors. Global interconnectedness continues to increase with international travel and trade; economic, political, and cultural interactions; and human-to-human and animal-to-human interactions. These interactions include the accidental and deliberate sharing of microbial agents and antimicrobial resistance and allow the emergence of new and unrecognized microbial disease agents. As the 21st century begins, already new agents have been identified, and new outbreaks have occurred. Solutions to limiting the spread of emerging infectious diseases will require cooperative efforts among many disciplines and entities worldwide. This article defines emerging infectious diseases, summarizes historical background, and discusses factors that contribute to emergence. Seven agents that have made a significant appearance, particularly in the 21st century, are reviewed, including: Ebola and Marburg hemorrhagic fevers, human monkeypox, bovine spongiform encephalopathy, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), West Nile virus, and avian influenza ANTHRAX: A disease that would be likely to kill only twenty percent of any group that was exposed to it, provided that massive and adequate medical treatment was available. The symptoms that Anthrax produces are high fever, vomiting, hemorrhage, headaches and bloody diarrhea.
RABBIT FEVER: People usually get this disease from rodents by means of fly bites. Rabbit Fever causes the lymph nodes in the body to swell, with a resultant high fever. Sometimes these swollen lymph nodes transform themselves into ulcers. A bit more unpleasant than the common cold, but you can cure it with certain antibiotics if you happen to have them in your pocket.
BOTULISM A: A few people may recall that this virus killed a couple of folks when it cropped up in some cans of soup in the summer of 1971. Because the ingestion of this virus results in a paralysis of the eyes, throat, chest and the entire respiratory system, it is almost always fatal.
Q FEVER: Kinder than most of the biological weapons, this one won't kill you; it will merely waste you for a long time. The advantage of this bug is that it is highly infectious. You can spread it around very quickly and very easily. All you have to do is to breathe out near someone who is breathing in.
VENEZUELAN EQUINE ENCEPHALOMYELITIS: A deadly disease that inflames the brain and spinal cord. It can be carried and dispersed by migrating birds. If you think this bird idea is pure theory, be informed that the Pentagon has put a number of millions of dollars into finding out just how this could be done.
STAPHYLOCOCCUS ENTEROTOXIN: Another 'humane' germ. It will only make you vomit violently for a number of days. Unless you are weak, old or pregnant it won't kill you.

UJC Launches Georgia Campaign
Breaking News
Published: 08/13/2008
The United Jewish Communities has launched an emergency appeal for the embattled citizens of Georgia.
UJC has set up a mailbox to take donations in addition to a blog addressing the crisis. The organization's overseas partners, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency for Israel, have been assisting the local Jewish community, a number of whom have made aliyah to Israel in recent days.
Georgia has been engulfed in crisis since Russian troops invaded and are now in control of half the country. It began last week in what Western leaders have described as an act of aggression aimed at destabilizing the country's democratic government. Though a truce was reached early Wednesday, Russian troops continue to occupy areas near the Georgian capital of Tbilisi and tensions are still running high.

Russia in nuclear threat to Poland
Catherine Philp and Tony Halpin in Tbilisi
Russia threatened Poland with a nuclear strike yesterday as the ripples of the Caucasus conflict spread through Europe and pitched West against East along new borders.
In a chilling echo of the Cold War, Russia gave warning that Poland was “exposing itself to a strike — 100 per cent” after signing a deal with the US to set up a missile shield on Polish soil.
The threat, the strongest since the fall of the Soviet Union, came as President Saakashvili of Georgia was forced to accept defeat as he signed a truce giving the Russian Army the right to patrol Georgian soil.
General Anatoli Nogovitsyn, the deputy chief of the general staff in Moscow, said that Russian military doctrine sanctioned the use of nuclear weapons “against the allies of countries having nuclear weapons if they in some way help them”, as Poland had done in signing the deal.

In Ukraine, Fear Of Being A Resurgent Russia's Next Target
KIEV, Ukraine -- For 17 years now, several former satellites and republics of the Soviet Union have cherished their democracies, all made possible by the simple premise that the days of Russian dominance were over.
The events in Georgia over the past week have made them rethink that idea. Ukraine inflamed mounting East-West tensions yesterday by offering up a Soviet-built satellite facility as part of the European missile defence system.
The proposal, made amid growing outrage among Russia's neighbours over its military campaign in Georgia, could see Ukraine added to Moscow's nuclear hitlist. A Russian general declared Poland a target for its arsenal after Warsaw signed a deal with Washington to host interceptor missiles for America's anti-nuclear shield.
Russia claims pullback but forces move other way

GORI, Georgia - Russia said Monday it had begun withdrawing from
the conflict zone in Georgia, but it held fast to key positions and
sent some of its troops in the opposite direction — closer to the Georgian capital.
American officials said the Russian military had been moving launchers for short-range ballistic missiles into South Ossetia, a step that appeared intended to tighten its hold on the breakaway territory.
Human Rights Watch reported that researchers witnessed "terrifying scenes of destruction" in four deserted ethnic Georgian villages, and said they the villages had been looted and burned by South Ossetian militias.

Apples and Wine
I once wrote something very much like this a long time ago, but I don't think I was quite as hard on the men. But a man with a hard on, is looking for a sure thing, be they rotten apples or not.
I know at least one of you girls will enjoy this.
"Apples and Wine
Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Share this with women who are good apples, even those who have already been picked!"
"Now Men.... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with."
Women Comics.

Therapists' Burnout
James Hoyt delivered mail in rural Iowa for more than 30 years. Yet Hoyt had long kept a secret from most of those who knew him best: He was one of the four U.S. soldiers to first see Germany's Buchenwald concentration camp. "There were thousands of bodies piled high.
I saw hearts that had been taken from live people in medical experiments," Hoyt told author Stephen Bloom.
Even 63 years after the liberation, Hoyt suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and attended a weekly group therapy session at a Veterans Affairs facility.
"Thinking back, I would have pushed to be a (psychologist) -- if for no other reason than to understand myself better."
James Hoyt, Buchenald Liberator 1925 - 2008

Retired Gen. Robert Sentman had earlier told mourners about the Buchenwald liberation. "When the prisoners saw Jim, they picked him up and threw him in the air, that's how happy they were after seeing such horrors. Prisoners had been hung from hooks to die. He saw a lampshade made from a prisoner's tattoo. Jim carried those horrors with him forever. He never got what he had seen out of his mind. If you ever wondered about Jim, think about what he saw."
The fall of Saigon drove many people into not only suicide but serious mental disorder as well. Ten years later, some physicians said that at least one thousand people around the Saigon area suffered incurable insanity on that day of the Black April. This tragedy had far reaching effects here in America too. As many veterans who could no longer endure the soul searing trauma induced by the horrors of war, and those who could no longer suffer the disgrace of defeat, took the easy way out.
Professor K. was a highly decorated war hero, and my close friend and advisor. An expert in Psych Ops (psychological warfare operations) he also conducted a major part of the counter terror program “Phoenix” in Vietnam, This CIA activity employed Special Forces personnel who were selected for their expertise in relevant skills necessary for the conduct of BLACK TERROR and assassination missions. The Project was buried deep within a Military Intelligence unit which was itself operating under the guise of a Civic Action Team, a common CIA cover for covert operations world-wide. Although members of the Civic Action team wore various military uniforms and carried on activities as though they were legitimate military officers, some were full time CIA Agents.
. I believe it was all the assassinations, and atrocities he was ordered to commit, that eventually led to his mental decline, and regretfully resulted in doctor K, drinking himself to death. Ever since my early college days, when I myself was a psychology major, I have been aware that many of my fellow students, as well as those who are now practising psychiatrists and psychologists, are more likely than any other profession, to be emotionally injured or phobic people using their occupations to heal their own psychic wounds. Alas, I have witnessed the fear of insanity, and the morbid decline of a another very close psychologist friend of over 15 years, JT, was at on time an associate professor at the same college that I attended. Before moving on to be in charge of a mental health care system covering all of Eastern Kentucky. As his brilliant mind began to fade into dementia it was like watching a slow death. To lose a good friend that way is nothing for anyone to joke about. And like the jokes deriving from the clerical sexual deviancy allegations of Roman Catholic priests. Psychotherapists are a central target of jokes and cartoons, often portrayed as greedy, out of touch with reality, easily outwitted by their crazy patients, prone to creating problems where none exist, and, of course, obsessed with sex, money, and power (Masson, 1988; Redlich, 1950). Psychologists are also accused of narcissism, over-intellectualizing, and harboring illusions of superiority, omnipotence, and god-hood. A recent surge of articles, books, and popular media focuses on psychotherapists who sexually exploit their patients. These "doctors of desire" are described as abusive, deviant, exploitative, and above all, willing to betray their patients' trust to satisfy their own desires.
In a 1952 paper, Menninger asserts his theory that most psychiatrists suffer some form of rejection in their family of origin. Hence, their work is necessary to them in order to maintain their mental health. This popular belief that psychotherapists, as compared to the general population, come from emotionally deprived or unstable homes is reflected in several papers (Burton, 1972; Ford, 1963; Groesbeck, 1975; Racusin, Abramowitz, & Winter, 1981). Groesbeck and Taylor (1977) titled their article, "The Psychiatrist as Wounded Physician," and Henry, Sims, and Spray (1973) reveals that more than 60% of the thousands of therapists surveyed report having few friends in high school and feeling somewhat isolated. The claims that psychotherapists have disrupted childhood seem pervasive; however they did not validate its conclusions.
Speculations on additional motivations for becoming psychotherapists range from therapists being drawn to "one way intimacy," to voyeurism, to obsession with others' suffering, to sadism, to an intense need to mother people (Bugental, 1964; Marmor, 1953; Wheelis, 1958). Bugental (1964) also mentions rebelliousness as a potential motivator, pointing out that the clinical setting often permits the discussion of socially tabooed topics, such as sexuality, and thereby challenges authority.
Maeder (1989), interviewing a biased sample of hostile adult children of psychotherapists, concludes, "The field of psychotherapy attracts people with a God complex in the first place, and is nearly custom designed to exacerbate such a condition when it exists" (p. 83). Throughout his book he equates psychotherapists with narcissists and uses the work of Kohut and Alice Miller on narcissistic parents to explain the dynamics of psychotherapists' families.
Studies have provided a few significant variables to indicate where psychotherapists differ from the general population or other professional groups, such as physicians. In the most extensive investigation to date, Henry, Sims, and Spray (1971, 1973) conclude from the 4,300 psychotherapists they studied that no one factor can account for these people's choices of mental health as a career. Other surveys report that prior to their choice of career, future psychiatrists tend to be intellectually flexible and interpersonally adaptive. They are apparently restless and have a low tolerance for routine. They are responsive and function well in settings where autonomy and independence are conducive to success, tend to be psychologically minded prior to their career choice, and are generally introspective. It was also found that even prior to medical training psychiatrists are significantly less authoritarian, less religious, and more liberal than their physician counterparts.
Research consistently documents physicians' significantly higher rate of depression and suicide as compared to the general population. Psychiatrists have been shown to score markedly higher than physicians. The Task Force on Suicide Prevention of the American Psychiatric Association conducted one of most extensive surveys. In investigating the deaths of approximately 19,000 physicians between 1967 and 1972, the Task Force determined that psychiatrists kill themselves about twice as frequently as other physicians. Furthermore, psychiatrists commit suicide at a younger age than the male population as a whole, and single women are at particularly high risk (Rich & Pitts, 1980). A similar survey of psychologists' death certificates concludes that female psychologists have a rate of suicide three times that of women in the general population (Steppacher & Mausner, 1974). Other important statistical data points to the high rate of alcoholism reported among psychotherapists (Thoreson, Budd, & Krauskopf, 1986).
In contrast to the above findings, Millon, Millon, & Antoni (1986) echo what many other researchers have argued; that there is no data that suggests that psychotherapists differ significantly from comparable professional groups. Indeed, no research to date indicates that psychologists and counselors are as vulnerable to depression, alcoholism, and suicide as psychiatrists were shown to be.
Though some of these conclusions are disputed, they are still valid and merit our attention. They do not necessarily mean that psychotherapists or psychiatrists manifest a significantly stronger tendency toward depression, suicide, and alcoholism prior to their training in and practice of psychotherapy. The alternative argument is that their training and practice increase their vulnerability to depression, suicide, and alcoholism. This second hypothesis leads us to the next area of inquiry.
As early as 1937, Freud warned about the dangers of psychoanalysis for the practicing analyst. In 1934 Jung alerted practitioners against what he called "psychic infection" and Scott & Hawk (1986) intensified the exploration of the hazards of psychotherapy for the therapists and forewarned that if preventative measures are not taken, burnout becomes inevitable.
My thanks to Ofer Zur, Ph.D. for doing all the really hard work. Otherwise I would have looked like a rambling fool, in trying to validate myself.

Frankly, my Dear, I Don't Give a Dam*
*Rhett Butler's parting line to Scarlett O'Hara in the film Gone with the Wind in 1939 that outraged, and captivated moviegoers: While Margaret Mitchell spelled it damn in her novel Gone With the Wind, Miss Mitchell's spelling only added to the confusion. The more accurate spelling should have been dam. A dam is a small Indian coin, less in value to our penny. So Rhett was actually saying, "The value of my caring is not even worth, a penny." Is it not a pity how people, like many of the good folks that call themselves Christians, are so quick to condemn and tie you to the stake, before they know all of the facts. The coin was first introduced by Sher Shah Suri during his rule of India between 1540 and 1545.
It was very common for my grandmother to say,("I would not give a nickel"), in fact when I was a baby, she said it in front of me so many times, that Nickle was the first word I ever spoke. I lost everything' when brother Dan crashed the computer, all those old e-mails from Caren forever lost, I can't even remember what day I got the first one back from her, and changed my destiny in many ways. Now the computer is at my house. I decided my little brother needed closer supervision so I moved him in with me. I hope to be back on line in a day or two.
As for the moment, I still feel little more than the essence of a spirit trapped inside this computer, I'm like a pet gerbil in his cage, spinning my wheel for all to see. It suits my altruistic nature, to be always entertaining. However, because I'm known to no one, I have too much independence. I should be happy that there is little scrutiny, and no one to for me to answer, for any of my improprieties, but I am not, and so it goes. On the other hand I have no proof that any other blogger really exist, Pictures can be doctored, and voices faked, everything I know about you could be computer generated. Today, I found this conversation, that I can really relate to.

I can no more convince another of my individuality than I can prove the moon is made of cheese. In the final analysis, we are the belief makers, we give it all meaning or no meaning at all. Do I mean we as in the plural, or we as in the royal we? Only a specific context can illuminate that question. :0) Simple beauty in motion. Enjoy your (individual) universe. Rader,
I have a hard enough time remembering the definition of the word "ontological" - it seems more a process than a state. Your descriptive contribution is helpful, considering this (individual) recipient; but will I retain it? I believe I am a physicist first because I rely upon my immediate physical environment and mental representations thereof rather than less grounded philosophical terms as a source of inspiration.

Well let me try and help. While I can only be what I know, learned and believe, it is fully understood that you must be also be. If an individual evolved and was aware of being aware, of its "I", it would then posses an absolute truth. It would eventually know it is not alone in the world and come to understand that properties relations and change, are all part of what makes it aware of being aware. Hence understanding, those beliefs, of what is, with sufficient intellegence could describe with a mathematical formula, a individual atom, inidvidual human or its own universe. Write your formula.

Ultimately, if it comes down to it, I can demonstrate the meaning of something by actually pointing to it, without using any words whatsoever. That is what I mean by demonstrable. If you ask me the meaning of "gravity" and I push you off your chair that is a demonstration. What you mean by the use of such words I can only guess according the context you use them in.
"In this case, the context is a philosophical bulletin board. As for how we manage to communicate at all, apparently we are the belief makers, we give it all meaning or no meaning at all. That is, perhaps, the ultimate context.
"So what do you point to for an explanation of "context?" What about "meaning?"
What then is reality? In a world where only blogs exist, is not my twisted version of reality just as valid as the next person's?

Standing at the Cross roads
Love, because of love; every possibility, every emotion must be must be weighed in the balance. What is best for me, no longer exist. The only thing that matters is what is best for this slick vamp that you warned me about. I have searched every corner of her heart, and found not a single cold spot. I'm not saying she did not give off that impression. For a time you even had me believing it too, but I was wrong, and so are you. Perhaps the workings of her mind is a little too complex for most folks to comprehend. She has a mind that is always on the move, with a never ending hunger for new ideas, and experiences. Thus making her seem all the more distant and aloof; When in reality she has a very warm and gracious heart. I'm 55 people!
A young woman her age is on the periphery, of what I feel is reasonable. I may still climb mountains, and run like a deer, but nothing last forever! What kind of man would I be for her in 20 years from now?
Yet deep in my heart, I know that all it would take is just one look, and she would never leave my side.
All these things, and more I have to consider, this is not a pleasant task to look atone's self in such a critical fashion. The more noble of the few options I have, are the least desirable. What is best for the one I love, is all that counts, and despite the fire and passion, of my enduring adoration.
I could deliberate over this for weeks, and the answer will always be the same. I don't have the authority to make the final decision, it takes us both, but because we think so much alike, I believe the final decision is only a formality. It is cutting me deep, perhaps it was best that she took away my freedom of speech, thus keeping me bound to the keyboard, I think the sound of me coming to life on the phone, was more than she could handle, I know all too well how my voice can heat up a woman's passion, she was only protecting herself. Alas I had no choice but to be understanding. She was so entertaining to talk with, and I really miss the sound of her voice. So this may well be my last post for a long while, as I will soon have to deal with the bitter pain of reality. I'm not a defeatist nor a martyr, I am just the best Friend and lover, that she will ever know. Sometimes the only way, is to give up the very person that you love the most. Oh I will recover, this has been a love of the mind only. She was wise enough to avoid any real physical contact with me, but I know her mind very well, and she knows me better than all of you bloggers put together.
If I could live out just one dream, I would come galloping up on my black stallion, leaping from the saddle, I would scoop up the fair damsel in my arms throwing the squirming beauty over my shoulder, jump back up on the beast, and go thundering off into the cool moonlit night. And we would live happily ever after.
Only in dreams.

Nonsense
I used to say I write whatever pleases me. Alas to qualify that statement, I'd have to find something that I've written I'm pleased with. There is no such thing. Screwing with peoples minds is only gratifying when I have something useful about life to teach. And I'm never going to get this bunch to think outside the box. They think abstract is just for painters. All abstract philosophical ideas seem to just go out the window. The world cares little about the intrinsic nature of things. Just turn on the TV god, and we will have a ball! Keep an animal in a small box like this for too long and he will be a lot more than just terminally abstract. I think I scare some people, I really do.
Cool.
Time to dump my old style of writing, and only Caren has passed the test, anyway she knows what a pain I can be. I am older than most blogger, But one thing I'm not, is a baggy pants grand paw. A tuxcedo is about as grandpaw as I get

The Healing Power of Unconditional Love
"Our survival depends on the healing power of love, intimacy, and relationships. There is nothing more fulfilling and satisfying in life than the act of loving and being loved. It is the most profound experience we can have. Love is essential for our mental and physical well-being. It is essential for our survival. Love is more than just a feeling, it is a whole body experience and it has a physiological effect on the body. Have you ever noticed how much better you feel physically and how your mood improves when you receive a hug or affection from someone who loves you or when you have expressed your love to someone or participate in an act of love?
Loving and being loved actually improves our level of health.
I have witnessed this truth in my own life over and over. Love and intimacy are at the root of what makes us sick and what makes us well, what causes sadness and what brings happiness, what makes us suffer and what leads to healing. If a new drug had the same impact, virtually every doctor in the country would be recommending it for their patients. It would be malpractice not to prescribe it, yet, we do not learn much about the healing power of love, intimacy, and transformation in our lives. There is a deep spiritual hunger in this country. The real epidemic in our culture is not only physical heart disease, but also what I call emotional and spiritual heart disease that is, the profound sense of loneliness, isolation, alienation, and depression that are so prevalent in our culture with the breakdown of the social structures that used to provide us with a sense of connection and community. It is, to me, a root of the illness, cynicism, and violence in our society".
"In my view, being happy and unconditionally loving to yourself and others is the same as loving G-d. If I decided to really take G-d into my heart, to love G-d, what would my consciousness be like? I think I would be accepting and non-judgmental of myself and everyone else. I would just love unconditionally.
"There's a wonderful story which illustrated that. In one part of the Old Testament that was discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls, there's a different version of Moses receiving the ten commandments from G-d than the one we're accustomed to. In this translation, G-d says to Moses on Mount Sinai, if you take me into your heart, this is what will happen: you shall not kill, you shall not steal, you shall not commit adultery, you shall honor your mother and father, and so on. They weren't commandments at all, but descriptions of how a person would be if he truly took G-d into his heart. And that's the way we are when we unconditionally love ourselves and others."

It is good to feel good
Welcome back my friends.
What can I say? Since I was a child; I've been gifted with powers I don't really understand. To peer into the hearts of men, and see the good and evil that lies within. To see future events unfold in dreams and visions. About 4:45 A.M. local time on September 5 1972 I awoke in my barracks after experiencing such a terrible dream! Men with guns were running about, and killing Jews. Some of the Jews tried to flee, they shot at them as they ran. It was so real, and I could tell these men were not Nazis. Little did I know what was taking place just a few miles up the road, it was too late to do any good. Sometimes I get some advanced warning, one minute past midnight on the morning of 9/11. I made the casual remark, that the Arabs were getting ready to attack us. I knew nothing more, the information was useless. I went home to my bed, only to wake up to a nightmare born out of hell. There is much more, but I have said more than I feel comfortable with. Like times when I had to deal with spirits of the dead. Why me of all people? Sometimes I often wonder. The people I try to help, many times have no clue, as to what I am doing in their lives, and knowing when someone is in need, has cost me plenty over the years, but I still try to do my very best.

Someone
From out of the blue, preternatural love came to town! Never in my lifetime have I experienced so complete and deep a love. Who would feel that way about me, and why? I tend to forget that there are some people who have yet to experience love and other emotions from a remote source. At times I can feel the emotions of others remotely, including hate so strong it made the hair on my neck stand up. I'd rather take on love any day.
Someone, somewhere, loves me very deeply, it may not be a blogger, and there are so many people in my life, but I can feel it, so strong from the top of my head to the tip of my toes! Their love is flowing through my body like bubbling effervescent electricity. Oh, it feels sooo good, even better than sex, but oh man, would it really be good. Wow, I really hope this is a woman! Because, this is no little baby love. Whoever has locked in on my heart, with these wonderful love vibes, is pumping from a mighty deep well. This profusion of adoration makes me feel so vivacious, and high. I often find myself smiling for no reason at all. I love it, and I want more, all I can say is come on out, and let this love draw you closer to me. Sweetheart, you will never be content until you close the gap. So do it! Crossover on the invincible bridge that love has built, take me gently by the hand, and share all of your passionate thoughts with this lone abased phantom of the Internet.
If I could bottle this stuff, I'd make millions!
It just hit me, I think I know, since last December. I've been using the power of the mind to send her my most sincere thoughts of love, hoping it would help to calm down a dear friend, who was suffering a little anxiety about her age. I know, because I did the very same. At 31, I got in a rush, and married the wrong girl. Lost the farm and everything but my truck. It could be that my friend has learned how to use the power of love, if this is so she is far superior to anyone I've ever encountered. We must be having a long distance love war, and she is kicking my ass!
Oh, kick it baby kick it!

It is sometimes fatal, but more frequently to the physician than to the patient.
I feel so good, please stay crazy, whoever you are..

Experience With Apraxia
Welcome:
I said to a dear heart, just the other day, while I was in the midst of having one of my royal tantrums. That I was going to quit blogging, but I'm not a young spoiled prince anymore, I should have known better. I am the friggin King! and I can never retire as long as my people are in need. At least my royal blog mother Caren, will come and poke me with a ten foot pole, every now and then. As far as I know, I'm her only bastar...er, bad-actor child.
Ahh, to be, or not to be.
I seem odd, only because I chose to write odd things, I like to set the pace, not follow it. I never was a writer, but this much I can tell you.
The moment a writer begins a story, all the universe is his. He becomes a god unto himself, and all creation flows from is pen. A sovereign without limitations, except in the writers own imagination. All things are possible to those that dare! Be bold, be brave, and keep an open heart. My brothers and sisters; there is no one quite like me, and there is no one quite like you! Strive to be humble with others, but believe in the uniqueness of yourself, always.
"Many kids with apraxia benefit from a gluten free diet, although Angle did not. Also, many kids benefit from the omega-3 oils, like Pro-EFA, which is available through Nordic Naturals. It comes in capsule form, which some kids will chew on to get the oil out, although you can just as easily puncture the capsule and add the oil to something like applesauce. It also comes in a liquid form. Neither of these have any soy or gluten products in them that I can see. They have fish oil, borage oil (which is important), lemon flavor, d-alpha tocopherol (vitamin E) and rosemary. It's not the vitamin E that's the most important component, it's the fish oil and borage oil." Miracles in Communication
"Dr. Agin is the foremost authority on apraxia in the country right now. She has a book out called "The Late Talker." If they don't have this book, they need to buy it. She's located in NY. Angel's doctor, Dr. Laveman, is a colleague of Dr. Agin and is the co-medical director with her of the Cherab organization -"
www.cherab.org
She should check out that site and read every single piece of info there. Another good site is:
www.apraxia-kids.org
"It is absolutely imperative that they see a neurodevelopmental pediatrician who has specific knowledge and experience with apraxia. Children are often misdiagnosed as mentally retarded or autistic when they're really apraxic. It's also imperative that this woman learn every last detail of the disability. I always joke that I'm the Rain Man of apraxia info, but as a parent, it is my responsibility to be armed with every single piece of information available to me in order to best advocate for my child. It is absolutely the most important thing you can do. And you have to be a strong, vocal advocate for your child, especially in the school system. Don't just accept what they tell you. You have to arm your self with as much knowledge about what your child is entitled to by law as you can. our district tried to tell me that Angel didn't need speech 5 times a week, that 2 or 3 was sufficient. Nope, sorry. They did this because the therapist in her building is part time and couldn't fit in 5 sessions. Too bad. Now they have to pay for a therapist to come to the house twice a week so that she gets all 5 sessions."
"The most important thing a parent can do is learn every last detail about the disability and all of its ramifications. Then take that knowledge and be a strong, vocal advocate for your child. Will people like that? No. But unless you are the squeaky wheel, your child will get no grease. It's not about whether they like me or not. It's about making sure my child gets every tool available to help her be able to lead a relatively normal life in the future. She can't do that for herself right now, so it's up to me."
Hope this helps,

Love Music
So many people think they know what love is, and yet they don't even have a clue. There is a love power, so immense it is beyond the imagination! It is much more than fathomless ecstasy. This marvellous river of pure love, also has vast comprehensive healing powers. But few ever find it, or know where to seek out a master teacher.
"From the beginning, love of man was the adhesive that connected the people of Israel. For as long as we kept it, we thrived and prospered. But when unfounded hatred prevailed, we declined to ruin and exile. Today, as the people of Israel are at a crucial junction, we need love of man like air. Gladly, the great Kabbalists adapted the wisdom of Kabbalah—the method that teaches how to reach love of man—to our generation."

(12) Can't Help Falling In Love With You
(13) Color me badd - forever love
(14) There I've Said It Again
(15) Anne Murray Dusty Springfield
(16) Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye
(17) Shania Twain You're still the one

(20) Close Your Eyes Give Me Your Hand
(21) Speak Softly Love (21)

Why?
Why keep a blog? I've been asking myself that question a lot here lately. What good is it?
There are so many other much more superior blogs, that I feel like this is just a waste of peoples time.
Some people see things that are and ask, Why? Some people dream of things that never were and ask, Why not? Some people have to go to work and don't have time for all that.
If a man is standing in the middle of the forest speaking and there is no woman around to hear him... is he still wrong?
I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately.
George Carlin
News paper is in my blood, I worked my way up from a delivery boy, to working in the press room. My dream was to become editor of the weekly world news, yes I'm ever bit as discusting as Chuck Barris. I guess this is about as close as I'll ever get to being an editor.

Guy Stuff
My trashy hoe is out gallivanting around with some old decrepit looking geezer, who looks to me like some kind of long dead fish. You can bet, I will set her hot little ass on fire the very first chance I get. I don't really know why I want to keep my Wild Thing anyway. I bet she has never washed a man's truck, or plucked a chicken in her life!
While she is out raising the dead, I have a chance to talk about some of the things that interest me. As many of you know, I used to be a firearms dealer for many years down here in Kentucky.
At one time, I had a huge collection of over 300 rare weapons and military relics from all over the world. I had everything from old artillery shells, and
hand grenades, to machine guns and swords.
Of my favorites, many came from the Israeli Wars. Such as my two
Egyptian Hakim Rifles, that were captured during the 1967 Six-Day War.
The Hakim's are in 7.92x57mm IS or the 8x57mm IS and here in the USA as the 8 mm Mauser or 8x57mm JS) caliber, 192 grain (12g) bullet only, and has a removable 10 round magazine intended to be reloaded with
5 round stripper clips. It was replaced in the 1960s by the Soviet AK-47 but was kept in military reserve. In more recent years, it has been observed in the hands of some Egyptian police units.
Lucky for us, the Egyptians fought like the French Army.
I also have a German Mauser Kar98k rifle.
Israel used my Nazi Mauser Kar98k rifle from the late 1940s until the 1970s.
The use of the Kar98k to establish the nation-state of Israel, is proof to me that good will overcome evil. Many Jewish organizations in Palestine acquired them from post-World War II Europe to protect various Jewish settlements from Arab attack as well as to carry out guerrilla operations against British Army forces in Palestine.
The Haganah, which later evolved into the modern-day Israeli Defense Forces, was one of the Jewish armed groups in Palestine that brought large numbers of Mauser Kar98k rifles and other surplus arms from Europe during the post-World War 2 period.
The Israeli version of the Mauser Kar98k rifles differ from the original German version in that almost all have had all of their Nazi Waffenamt markings and emblems defaced with over stamped Israeli Defence Force and Hebrew markings as part of an effort to ideologically "purify" the rifles from their former use as an infantry weapon of Nazi Germany. My Kar98k rifle is one of the rare exceptions, it still has the original Nazi markings next to the Hebrew. The Star of David, next to the nazi eagle and swastika, seems so unreal, yet cool.
During the late 1950s, the IDF converted the calibre of my rifle from the original German 7.92 mm round to 7.62 mm NATO after the IDF adopted the FN FAL rifle in 1958. All Mauser Kar98k rifles that were converted have "7.62" engraved on the rifle receiver.
The Kar98k rifle was used by the reserve branches of the IDF well into the 1960s and 1970s and saw action in the hands of various Israeli Army support and line-of-communications troops during the 1967 Six-Day War and the 1973 Arab-Israeli War.
I've been a ghost hunter/buster, long before the movie came out. Ghostbuster
Why do I like this song, and what ever happend to Shakespears Sister? Run Silent Run Deep

"U.S. troops psyched up on a bizarre musical reprise from the Vietnam war film 'Apocalypse Now' before crashing into Iraqi homes to hunt insurgents.... With Wagner's 'Ride Of The Valkyries' still ringing in their ears and the clatter of helicopters overhead, soldiers rammed vehicles into metal gates and hundreds of troops raided houses in the western city of Ramadi..."--Reuters,

"U.S. troops psyched up on a bizarre musical reprise from the Vietnam war film 'Apocalypse Now' before crashing into Iraqi homes to hunt insurgents.... With Wagner's 'Ride Of The Valkyries' still ringing in their ears and the clatter of helicopters overhead, soldiers rammed vehicles into metal gates and hundreds of troops raided houses in the western city of Ramadi..."--Reuters,

A little something I just now found.
I want to argue that now, 60 years after the end of the Holocaust, it is time to grow out of all this.
The time has come to turn the memory of the Holocaust from an exclusively Jewish property into a world-wide human possession.
The mourning, the anger and the shame must be turned into a universal message against all forms of genocide.
The struggle against anti-Semitism must become a part of the fight against all kinds of racism, whether directed against Muslims in Europe or Blacks in America, Kurds in Turkey or Palestinians in Israel, or foreign workers everywhere.
The Jews‘ long history as the victims of murderous persecution must not cause us to wrap ourselves in a cult of self -pity, but, on the contrary, should encourage us to take the lead in the world-wide struggle against racism, prejudice and stereotypes that begin with incitement by vile demagogues and can end in genocide.
Such a people would truly be "a light unto the nations."

Willkommen! Bienvenue! Welcome! Meine Damen und Herren-Mes dames et Messieurs- Ladies and Gentlemen, Guten Abend! Bon Soir! Good Evening! Wie geht's? Comment sa va? Do you feel good? Ich bin eur confrencier! Je suis votre compre,
I am you host!
Oh Boy, what an act to follow! For this man of great limitations should know better.
This is the time of year I miss living in Germany the most. Where for three years, every day was a new adventure full of awe and wonder. From the majestic mountains in the south to the great bustling Hamburg by the sea, The center of Hamburg day and nightlife is the St. Pauli and Reeperbahn district, known to locals as the “Kiez”. More than just its famous red light quarter, St. Pauli offers plenty of top-shelf (and bargain) restaurants and a endless supply of watering holes to keep your gang going until the early morning, and I mean like, hello Mr.Sun. But I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. There is in Germany, so much history to experience, and castles, castles everywhere a castle. Then back again to how much I enjoyed Berlin, and it's fabulous nightlife! Not to mention my great love affair with Frankfurt, and Fulda. I went through Germany like a true American politician. I wanted to hit every Gasthaus, shake every hand, kiss every fraulein, and help make every baby.

Ahhhhh Sarah, City Girls Are Easy.
Willkommen! Meine Dammen und Herren, Ladies and Gentlemen!
I'm sure just to keep up with this fair beauties ravenous intelligence, many men would feel intimidated, and fewer still would have the patience. The fact that she just given me the longest salute in the history of my blog, only means the game is not over. For Sarah to invest that much of her time is in no way a mere act of love for "Sex And The City". This woman's mind goes much deeper than you could ever imagine. it hungers constantly for stimulation, knowledge, and so much more. A less able mind like myself has a need to be able to filter out and ignore some stimuli. There are few people who can perform at her level. A less intelligent person with a low level of latent inhibition for filtering out familiar stimuli may well sink into mental illness as a result, and be like me, crazy as a June Bug. But with her smarter mind she can handle the effects of taking note of a larger number of stimuli and even find interesting and useful patterns by continually processing a larger quantity of familiar information. That is why Sarah can have a finger in every pie, and still have the time to jerk the slack out of my chain. So now this behemoth of higher thought, has again thrown down the gauntlet to me. I better give up before it's too late. Joy Apollo 100 ultragroovy!

Unity
Willkommen! Si vis pacem, para bellum.
"The peaceful Hobbits had been overrun by evil men. Having fought along side with Middle Earth's finest warriors and generals, Frodo et al are easily able to mobilize the hobbits in a way that swiftly dispatches of the ruffians." Sounds very much like a social worker's wet dream. Thanks Dave.
Unity: In this day and age we can ill afford to be without it. Yet how often do we make the effort to fully embrace our fellowships, or take the time to strengthen common bonds?
I'm afraid, the handwriting is on the wall, and the time will soon come, when every man will be for himself. A few of us may learn to be good Hobbits, and survive the coming upheaval. Until then let's keep on dancing.
ALLEGIANCE:
noun
Faithfulness or devotion to a person, a cause, obligations, or duties: constancy, faithfulness, fealty, fidelity, loyalty, steadfastness. See obligation

Not what I was looking for
A LITTLE WARNING!
IT'S BEEN A LONGTIME SINCE I POSTED A SONG THAT MADE ME CRY LIKE A BABY. UNLESS YOU HAVE A STRONG HEART; I WOULD ADVISE YOU PLEASE DO NOT TO PLAY THE NEXT SONG. IT WILL SPOIL YOUR DAY.
As a young soldier I was at the top of my class, and learned how to kill most proficiently. Oh my, how things have changed. All I was looking for was a song from my youth, not a bloody reminder that war is really Hell. I wish I could make it all go away, and pretend I never saw it, but because of my love for all life. I feel so very obligated to make a stand. My fear is that only a revolution can save and restore this country.

They Thought They Were Free
The Germans, 1933-45

But Then It Was Too Late
"What no one seemed to notice," said a colleague of mine, a philologist, "was the ever widening gap, after 1933, between the government and the people. Just think how very wide this gap was to begin with, here in Germany. And it became always wider. You know, it doesn’t make people close to their government to be told that this is a people’s government, a true democracy, or to be enrolled in civilian defense, or even to vote. All this has little, really nothing, to do with knowing one is governing.
"What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to being governed by surprise; to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if the people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security. And their sense of identification with Hitler, their trust in him, made it easier to widen this gap and reassured those who would otherwise have worried about it.
I hope you have the time to read the full excerpt, as can be attested by the Reichsmarschall. Sometimes the dead can speak more clearly than the living.
Why, of course the people don't want war ... but, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament or a communist dictatorship ... voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.

It Can't Happen Here

Two old friends of mine -- a Jewish couple in their 80s, both retired university professors who fled Nazi Germany in the late 1930s and eventually became U.S. citizens -- made a stunning remark to me a few months ago: "You know, all our lives we have blamed our parents and our parents' generation for allowing Hitler to gain control. Now we're beginning to see how powerless they must have felt to stop what was happening all around them."

Summer's Song
Spring is in the air, but you can already hear the anthems heralding the approaching deflowering coronation of Aestas; the nubile Goddess of Summer. Although her life is often torrid, it is also a mercifully short one, enabling most of us to still love her, even after she hits middle age, and her days begin to become extremely hot and sultry.
There would be no life without Summer, as all of nature greedily feeds from her ample breast. Indeed we all partake of her life giving passion, or perish. A little heat is good for the soul, the world will sorely miss her warm caress in the upcoming Ice Age.
Let's see how many Summer related songs we can come up with.
Here a just a few to start us out with. I will keep adding more as we head toward our rendezvous with the ardent lady we know so well.
Caren, here is your boy, Bon Jovi - Summer Time
These next few have been Summer standards for almost as long as I can remember.
Hot Fun In The Summertime.
Eric Burdon & War - Spill The Wine
IN THE SUMMER TIME/MUNGO JERRY.
And I love this one! Warm San Francisco Night by The Animals
First Class ~ Beach Baby
Brian Hyland - Sealed with a kiss 1962
The Who - Summertime Blues
Jamies - Summertime Summertime!
"Summer In the City" - Lovin' Spoonful
Summer Wine - Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood
Jaded said...
Don Henley - The Boys of Summer.
"One of my favorites".
Thanks Jade, that is a good one!
"Night Moves"- Bob Segar
I'm posting a lot of these songs from a very limited industrial computer, here in the security office; it makes no sound at all. So no doubt from time to time, there will be a few duds for me to fix whenever I get home.
I hope this next Summer song is a good one.

HEY HEY HEY! Ding A Ling Dave, you sounded really good on that bell.
I call New York the schizophrenic city, with its many rival boroughs divided into antagonistic elements. It's a tribal identity thing.
I must be getting old, things have changed so much, I saw this blog today, and it reminded me of how I was as a young 20 year old soldier, full of shit and vinegar. It was 1973, and dead or alive, most of my rock music heroes were all legends. Then along comes scruffy looking Bruce, and his motley looking gang that looked like a bunch of junkies, rummies and bums. I said to myself, these guys are at the end of their road they'll never make it to the top. Danny Federici was so clean he looked out of place. Funny, he seemed so clean cut, he looked like he was kidnapped from playing at some one's bar mitzvaha party. Hell what did I know? Back then we were still praying that the Beatles would come back together It was not until I got out of the army, that I began to really appreciate the Boss, and his crew.

What Am I ?
Until a wonderful Forrest sprite came along and shook me out of the tree; that I have been lodged so comfortably oh these many years. I was content to keep most of my spiritual thoughts on my other blog. There was a good reason for keeping this blog more secular. Few people have the interest, or the courage to discuss anything of a spiritual nature, and as I already have one dead blog, why make two? Ah, but your G-d takes second place to no one! I will have to figure out a way to give Him a front row seat, and not frighten away all my friends at the same time. I am not religious, and like my hero Abraham I believe in G-d, and view all the major religions of the world at least in part, as pagan. Yet because G-d is sovereign , and even though He is known worldwide by many names; He has no need of our dogma or religion. Adonai our G-d is free to deal with the hearts of all His children, He understands and accommodates our primitive needs, no matter what kind of costume we try to put on Him. We should "instead of being subject to the limits of the Western mindset which dichotomizes things, values, etc, take advantage and assurance that seeming disparities are not disparities, but part of a larger synthesis of thought. Faith & works are part of a renewal of the heart. Torah is about renewing our hearts – all the promises rely on our hearts being renewed. Hence, Torah is not so much a religion, but a change of state, a change of being. The good deeds are not so much works, they are also faith, as they are part of emunah – Hebrew for “faith” which denotes that we “support G-d” and have “firm actions.” Faith is not so much a hope, but a certainty and way of living – what I can do to support the will of G-d."

The Tibetan Uprising Continues
The Rape of Tibet:
A shattered historical identity, a culture being savagely destroyed
In 1959 Tibet lost its freedom: outnumbered and poorly armed, the Tibetan army was crushed after a few days of an unsuccessful uprising. Thousands were killed. Everything was destroyed. Monks were crucified and many were buried, or burned alive, children forced to kill their own parents The famine forced the people to escape. This was the method used by the communist despots: make them go hungry, weaken them and divide them. Secretly and silently the Tibetans were eliminated. Chinese propaganda discredited the peaceful monks then as it does today.
In 2008, Tibetans around the world commemorated the 1959 uprising against Chinese rule.
THE NEW YORK TIMES
Wednesday, April 2, 2008
"Tibet, the high-altitude Himalayan plateau associated in popular memory with meditation and Buddhist serenity, has been the scene of periodic strife ever since it was seized militarily by China in 1951. The country's former ruler, the Dalai Lama, has led a government in exile whose bitter relations with China's Communist Party has boiled over from time to time in protests or fighting.
Sporadic talks between China and the Dalai Lama’s representatives have produced no results, and Beijing continues to condemn him as a “splittist” determined to severe the region’s ties to China. In the past, the Dalai Lama has said that he accepts Chinese rule, but that Tibetans need greater autonomy to practice their religion.
A new round of disturbances broke out beginning on March 10, 2008, the anniversary of a failed Tibetan uprising against Chinese rule in 1959. The protests turned violent, and were described as the largest since 1989. Those ended in a bloody clash with Chinese security forces and the imposition of martial law."
FREEDOM FIRST
by Major Geneal (Retd) Eustace D'Souza:
That the Chinese are most sensitive to any criticism of their hold on Tibet, their human rights record and other illegal activities as, for instance, using it as a dumping ground for nuclear waste, is too well known to deserve recall. When such issues were raised with a nine member high powered Chinese delegation at a seminar held recently in the University town of Manipal in Karnataka, the reaction of the delegation, when issues relating to Tibet was raised, invariably drew violent reactions of protest. The rape of Tibet, its age-old culture and its people continue, judging from the number of ethnic Tibetans who escape to India. Their stories record vividly the grossest violation of human rights and Chinese sensitivity to any such references drawing strong protests.
When our Mumbai Tibetans held a silent and non-violent hunger strike during the visit of Zhu Rongji, the Mumbai police were explicit in prohibiting any demonstrations in areas being visited by the Chinese Premier. However they were permitted to hold a hunger strike on Azad Maidan where about 200 Tibetan protestors and their Indian friends participated. In his brief address to the protestors, this writer stressed the need never to give up hope. He drew attention to the Tibetan flag with the rising sun as a sign of hope: the sun was not setting but rising. Decrying the fact that the free west chose to keep silent on the rape of Tibet, this writer suggested that the only way to stimulate the involvement of the West in their freedom struggle was to discover oil in Tibet!

Singin' In The Rain
What I will soon be doing, or may be doing as you are reading this.
I got my rubbers, and I'm ready to go!
For you Dave:
And in those days, there were giants!

My Good Right Arm
Time to replug another friend.
I have known no other on this Internet longer, or found anyone more trustworthy than the delightfully gifted writer, and humorist,
Caren (Cowie) Lissner. With a kind heart, and a remarkable mind so in synchronous, that at times she mirrors my very thoughts.
There have been times she has spoken my very thoughts before I could post them, I can depend on Caren to reach out and touch the lives of those who are so far away from me here in the bush. It has been a remarkable comradeship for she also performed many more other acts of love and kindness, before I could ask her to do so. It gives me a good feeling to know someones mind can be on the same track as myself, and like me she is almost smart.
Caren is the editor for a chain of weekly newspapers in Hudson County, N.J., just across the Hudson River from Manhattan. A prolific writer, and author of several excellent books. Her essays have been published in the New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer, and Weatherwise Magazine, and a host of other popular rags. She is a friend to all who know her, and even to those who do not. I often marveled how despite her heavy work load, how quickly she responds to all her e-mails, assuming she gives equal time to everyone. The worst thing I can say about her, is that in all the years that I have known her, never once has she ask me for advice! And everyone knows that I'm always full of it. One day I will tell you a funny story about Caren, Carrie Pilby, and Amazon.com.
Ooops! Where are my D J manners? I almost forgot to dedicate a song to the Addled Writer. Now she is a married woman folks, so I have to keep it kind of tame. No surprises here.
And to that cool girl who once thought she liked me. This song is for you babe.
I've been making lots of snowballs today, and have not seen, a single kid, or mailman to clobber! boo hoo

For Wolves and Sky
GREAT SPIRIT open their hearts that they may abide in your endless wisdom, and always fallow the true path.
"Wolves have been long regarded by
Native Americans as teachers or pathfinders.
Wolves are fiercely loyal to their mates,
and have a strong sense of family while maintaining individualism.
"In the stars, Wolf is represented by the Dog, Sirius,
thought by many aboriginal tribes to be the home of the "Ancients."
It seems to be through this connection
that Wolf has come to be associated with ancient teachings.
Wolves are probably the most misunderstood of the wild animals."
Tales of cold bloodedness abound,
in spite of the their friendly, social and intelligent traits.
"They are truly free spirits even though their packs are highly organized.
They seem to go out of their way to avoid a fight.
One is rarely necessary when a shift in posture, a growl,
or a glance gets the point across quite readily."
"Traditionally, someone with Wolf Medicine has a strong sense of self,
and communicates well through subtle changes
in voice inflection and body movements.
They often find new solutions to problems while
providing stability and support
that one normally associates with a family structure".
*Unknown*
Today, "the wolf represents the symbol of our wilderness, a world which man has long since forgotten. We are just now making the attempt to protect and preserve the wolf as an endangered species. The future survival of the wolf depends on whether this mystical creature can been seen at last, for what it really is - an exceptionally interesting part of our wildlife heritage and an outstanding representative of that wilderness, which we are belatedly trying to preserve."
"One must understand the wolf in the wild to truly appreciate his inherit right to exist. In their own world, wolves can maybe teach us to see their species in a new light. Have we waited until it is too late to learn to understand this mysterious yet highly controversial animal and give them the acceptance they deserve? Do we dare take a new look at the wolf, to see what is really behind that mask of the myths formed from our own fear of the wilderness, a world yet untamed?"
Debra McCann.
SacredWolfDreams:
To love one another, is all that makes life worth living.
Like myself; my friend Sky has been very sick this Winter. As this most gracious and noble child of the Most High recovers, I hope you will all continue to send her your best prayers and thoughts.
My Wolf Maidens Greeting
I have an undying love affair and romance with the greatest show on earth...LIFE! Namaste' to all fellow earth aliens :0) I hope you feel most welcome here and come back to visit from time to time, perhaps leave your own thoughts and mark to remember you by. I LOVE to meet people and hear their own story. I do feel with my every being, that every morning the sun rises to refresh our souls, and every sunset is honored as a gift, for we are not granted a tomorrow. I have the now to share, and hope you catch the same wild disease
A wolf's best friend is Skylar; she is so nice. I wish I were a wolf!

It's Got to Get Better Than This.
The great euphoria for Global Orgasm seems now to have all petered out.
The lascivious event, timed with the Winter solstice came and went, without much note.
I was home alone, but I've yet to find out what my girlfriend was doing.
Where are my people? I hope you are all enjoying yourselves.
Sound, Lights, Action! I love it.
These are so cool, Christmas Lights Gone Wild
Wow! These Xmas Lights Dance - literally
A 5th of Beethoven!
Down yonder, the folks have something to be proud of; HillBilly Christmas lights!
Just imagine, I'm expected to give up all the marvelous, and quaint things like this, for a new life in the big city. Indeed, life is not fair!
Too much moonshine, and you'll screw up your lights! Charmz Hillbilly Xmas Lights. With the Soggy Bottom Boys.
I should make that mean woman strip, and do the Can Can, for me first.

The Hairy Ainus of Japan
Out of the bowels of Mount Tokachi, in the centre of Hokkaido, northernmost of the main islands of the island empire of Japan, abides the last retreat of the Hairy Ainus. "The Hairy Ainus who live in caves, hunt and fish with primitive weapons. They are a race seemingly unconnected with the surrounding Mongolian peoples, thought to have migrated to the northern islands of Japan from Manchuria, a remnant of Neolithic stock. They are taller than the Japanese, heavier-built; their hairiness has been exaggerated from the fact that the men never shave and the women, admiring hirsute embellishment, daub themselves with mustache designs in pot-smut. They are bear-worshipers, non-agricultural."
"Meanwhile, in Japan, many Jewish researchers were convinced that the long-haired Ainu people of Hokkaido were a lost tribe of Israelites, on the evidence that the Ainu are not Japanese, and therefore must be Jewish. A Jewish colony had existed in Kaifeng in China for many years, and China is, after all, *nearly* Japan."
haa, haa, you think that's funny? more likely thay were just a bunch of Boston Boobs, who got lost on their way to Coney Island. And I'm pretty sure TAB has no kinfolks in Hokkaido.
Today in Japan, a person of Ainu race is addressed as "Ainu no hito" (pl. "Ainu no hitobito") as opposed to the now deprecated address of "Ainujin," in the name of political correctness. A survey in 1999 countedd 23,767 Ainus in Japan, mostly in Hokkaido. During the Meiji era, the Ainus endured oppression from the Japanese government, which was intent on colonizing the northern territories and Okinawa islands. The discrimination that the Ainus faced included the loss of land rights and criminalization of hunting, which used to be the Ainu way of life. As a step in modernization, the Meiji government imposed Japanese education on the Ainus who did not have their own writing system. Much of this has resulted in most Ainus losing their native culture. Today, equal rights is emphasised and racism is condemned. Yet the Ainus in average still live a life less wealthy than the average Japanese.
